Morgan Fire Protection are pleased to announce that we have progressed from Bronze and now been awarded the Silver accreditation by FORS (Fleet Operation Recognition Scheme).
FORS state that to achieve this progression the company being audited must be “actively committing to drastically improve safety, environmental impact and efficiency through a range of initiatives.”
Morgan Fire Protection operates using a fleet of approximately 45 company vehicles. To comply with FORS, each of our driver’s licences is checked with the DVLA regularly. As well as this they all had to undertake a Safe Urban Driving course and an E-learning module which will be taken annually.
The accreditation was again handled by Morgan Fire’s Health and Safety Support Manager- Evelyn Hayes.
Evelyn states: “I’m very pleased to announce that we have now progressed to FORS Silver accreditation. It will go a long way to making us a safer, greener and more efficient company. We strongly believe that this will help us in tendering for new business and has ensured that we can continue to aid Transport for London with their Health and Safety requirements.”
FORS is a Mayor of London and Transport for London (TFL) initiative and is linked to reducing road deaths to motorbike drivers and cyclists. FORS accreditation is currently a supplier requirement for TFL and Morgan Fire services extinguishers, fire alarms and dry risers at TFL bus garages.
FORS is subsidised, voluntary and open to any company operating fleeting including vans, lorries, mini buses and coaches. There are currently over 5,500 companies in London and the UK who are currently registered with the scheme.
The scheme prides itself for targeting three main areas:
- Reducing environmental impact – anti idling, fuel and emissions, fuel use tracker
- Aiding companies operating fleets be more efficient – driver licence checks, performance management
- Health and safety: improving safety – cycle safety, FORS incident and collision data management
